Welcome to my new blog, The Ripple Effect, inspired by the ethos of Pickleworm.
Hi, I’m Matthew Albone. You might think that starting a company designed to spread motivation would mean I’m brimming with confidence and positivity myself —but honestly, my journey has been anything but straightforward. At 42, I found myself disillusioned with my work, stuck in an endless loop of dissatisfaction but being too scared to take a leap into something new.
For years, ideas filled my mind—creative concepts, dreams of building something meaningful and outdoor adventures—but I lacked the confidence to follow through. I often felt trapped, overwhelmed by doubt and fear of the unknown, until one day the stress of indecision became greater than the fear of the unknown. I took a deep breath, embraced my passions, and created Pickleworm—a brand that combines everything I love: creativity, community, the great outdoors and a spirit of adventure.
Pickleworm is more than just t-shirts or a brand; it's a movement rooted in the belief that inspiration is contagious. Through shared stories, adventures, and moments of triumph, we uplift each other and create ripples of positivity that echo far beyond ourselves. It’s also my way of tackling those moments of self-doubt and lack of motivation—building a community that uplifts me as much as I hope it uplifts others.
The idea began with motivational t-shirts but has room to grow organically, just like the people in the community we’re creating. I’m not one for restraints; I want Pickleworm to evolve naturally, open to possibilities and whatever inspires us along the way.
That’s where The Ripple Effect comes in. This blog will be a space to celebrate the remarkable individuals within the Pickleworm community—their achievements, their bravery, and the obstacles they’ve overcome. Together, we’ll share stories that spark change, inspire growth, and motivate each other to dream bigger and live better.
